Robert M. Bedard, Senior VP of Real Estate
Prior to joining Gatlin Development, Robert was Director of Real Estate for Walmart. In that capacity, Robert led a team of professionals that was responsible for up to one- third of Walmart's entire annual development in the United States, including new supercenters, general merchandise stores, Sam's Clubs, and neighborhood markets.
During his eighteen year Walmart career, Robert orchestrated the development of approximately 850 Walmart projects worth approximately $10 billion; a phenomenal amount of retail development by any standard. Robert helped develop and implement Walmart's supercenter strategy for the western United States, and developed Walmart's initial market entry strategy for major metropolitan markets such as Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, Phoenix, San Diego, and Los Angeles.
Robert also worked for Vestar Development in the late 1980's as their Manager of New Markets to help them with their expansion into California from their home base in Phoenix. Early in his career, Robert was also a real estate representative for Sherwin-Williams and Montgomery Ward.
Robert graduated from Arizona State University with a major in Real Estate. He was chosen the "Outstanding Real Estate Graduate" of his class. Robert has been a panelist for various real estate organizations including ICSC and The Urban Land Institute.
