Joe Passalaqua, VP of Construction
New Orleans native Joe Passalaqua has been a project manager for Gatlin Development Company for nearly 13 years. With the ability to take charge and see projects through, his role includes preparing budgets, meeting with architectural committees, processing plans, permitting the plans once approved, and managing construction from start up through final inspection. He interfaces with engineers and sub-contractors.
Joe graduated from Tulane University with a degree in computer science and computer information systems and a minor in industrial engineering. While in college, he worked as a systems engineer and data processing coordinator in charge of the programming of computers.
Mr. Passalaqua entered the field of residential construction in 1989 with the guidance and support from Mr. Gatlin. While working full-time in the computer field and living in New Orleans, Joe started building custom homes as a part-time hobby. Joe credits Mr. Gatlin for helping him make this part-time hobby a huge success.
In 1997, Mr. Gatlin offered Mr. Passalaqua a job in the San Diego area. Excited about the prospects, he accepted the offer and moved his family there. Since then, Mr. Passalaqua has supervised and developed over $70 million of property.
In October of 2008, Mr. Passalaqua and his family decided to relocate to Tennessee along with Mr. Gatlin and his family. Joe is looking forward to this new chapter in his life and the opportunities it will bring.
