Eric Welsch, CFO

Eric Welsch, the CFO for Gatlin Development Company, was born and raised in Illinois. On a daily basis, Eric interfaces with the company's owner, Frank C. Gatlin, the company's president, Loren Van Der Slik, and the accounting department. Eric is responsible for financing, project evaluation, tax planning, accounting and reporting for all partnerships and corporations owned and managed by GDC.

When graduating from high school, he received a congressional appointment for the Annapolis Naval Academy, but instead of accepting the appointment, he chose to go to the University of Illinois, the number one school for accounting, where he obtain an accounting degree and graduated with high honors in 1973.

After college, Mr. Welsch worked as a CPA for the Illinois offices of accounting firm Clifton Gunderson & Company. At the age of 25, Eric was named the youngest person to become tax manager at the firm. Later, he took a position as the CFO for SES Properties, a shopping center developer whose headquarters were located in Chicago. The company subsequently relocated to Southern California where Mr. Welsch met Frank Gatlin. In 1993, Mr. Welsch took the position as CFO for Gatlin Development Company and to date, has continued in that position.
